I am a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma. I have historical interests in both ancient and medieval philosophy, as well as interests in contemporary philosophy of science and metaphysics. In 2017, I defended my dissertation, which examined Aristotle's understanding of accidental causation as well as several implications that this understanding has in his treatment of connected topics.

In addition to working on Aristotle, I also have interests in other historical periods, including Hellenistic and late medieval philosophy. And I have abiding interests in contemporary philosophy of science and metaphysics:  before studying at Colorado, I took a PhD in Aerospace Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and I still think about some of the problems I worked on there — just from a different point of view.

Outside of philosophy, I try to keep up with my wife and daughters on the hiking trails and the bike paths. I also like to play chess and pretend I know something about stringed instruments.
